TC Pola Cat.4 moves away from Tongatapu [1]

Forecast track map shows TC Pola moving away from Tonga, issued at 7:00am by Tonga Met. 1 March 2019.

Tropical Cylcone Pola (Cat 4) has moved away from Tongatapu and was located 615km south southwest of Nuku’alofa at 12pm today.

The damaging gale force winds associated with the cyclone have moved out of Tonga’s maritime boundary as the cyclone continues to move to the far south.

The hurricane warning has been cancelled for Tele-ki-Tonga and Tele-ki-Tokelau coastal waters.

A strong wind warning is now in force for Tele-ki-Tonga and Tele-ki-Tokelau coastal waters.

A heavy damaging swell remains in force for Tele-ki-Tonga and Tele-ki-Tokelau coastal waters.
