Woman sustained serious injury in collision [1]

A 49-year-old woman from 'Utulau who sustained serious injuries in a road crash on December 22, 2018, will be charged with alleged drunk driving.

Tonga Police today said the woman was driving on Fonongahina Road in the eastern district of Tongatapu, when she collided with an oncoming vehicle at around 11:20pm.

The driver in the other vehicle sustained minor bruises, while the woman from 'Utulau sustained serious injuries to her body.

The Police statement advised the public not to drink and drive in order to safeguard their lives and others on the road.
