Six vie for Miss Pacific Islands crown [1]

Six Pacific Islands contestants are in Nuku’alofa to compete for the crown on November 29-30, at the 'Atele Indoor Stadium.
They are Miss Papua New Guinea, Leoshina Mercy Kariha; Miss Samoa, Sonia Piva; Miss American Samoa, Magalita Johnson; Miss Tuvalu, Emelipelesa Panapa; Miss Tonga, Kalolaine Funganitao and Miss Cook Islands, Lydia Simonis.
The reigning Miss Pacific Islands Matauaina Toomalatai comes from American Samoa.
Held under a theme “Pasifiki Masani” meaning Magnificent Pacific, the judging events starts with a sarong, talent and traditional attire event on Thursday night, November 29.
The crowning will be held during a ball on Friday night, November 30 at the 'Atele Indoor Stadium.
Meanwhile, contestants have been attending various local events prior to the pagent competition.
