Accused in $460,000 meth bust on bail [1]

Finau Mahe (41) who appeared at the Fasi Magistrate’s Court on November 26, charged in relation to the seizure of $460,000 pa’anga worth of methamphetamine at Kanokupolu has been released on bail.
The Magistrate adjourned his case to February 4, 2019 after being informed by the Police Prosecutor that a drug test sent to be New Zealand should be ready by then. The case will be called back on this date for future direction.
The meth, which weighed around 464 grams, was seized by a Tonga Police Drugs Enforcement Taskforce with police dogs, during a search warrant executed at a home on November 14.
The accused is charged with possession of the illicit drug.
