Man hospitalized after Kolonga shooting [1]

A 23-year-old man who sustained multiple gunshot wounds after being shot in Kolonga on Saturday night, November 17 is reported to be in a stable condition at Vaiola Hospital.

Acting Superintendent Sisi Toutai Tonga at the Mu’a Police Station said today the shooting allegedly took place during a drunken brawl at Kolonga.

This was after Police received a report from the hospital that a man had been admitted with gunshot wounds at around 10:00pm.

He said a 27-year-old man, who is alleged to have been the shooter, was arrested on Sunday morning, November 18 from a home in Pahu, Nuku'alofa.

The victim had sustained gunshot wounds on his thighs.

Meanwhile, the accused remained in custody while the investigation continued.
