Miss Pacific Islands Pageant in Tonga Nov 29-30 [1]

Seven contestants will compete for the crown in the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant to be held in Tonga on November 29-30.
Five contestants, who have registered so far, include Miss PNG, Leoshina Mercy Kariha; Miss Samoa, Sonia Piva; Miss American Samoa, Magalita Johnson; Miss Tuvalu, Emelipelesa Panapa; and Miss Tonga, Kalolaine Funganitao.
Two others expected to register are Cook Islands and Rapa Nui.
The theme for the two day pageant is Pasifiki Masani meaning “Magnificent Pacific”.
The pre-Pageant Interview will be held at the Scenic Hotel with a talent night, island creation and sarong at the ‘Atele Indoor Stadium, on Thursday November 29.
The Pageant Night interview and crowning of the 2018 Miss Pacific Islands will be held during a ball at the indoor stadium on Friday night, November 30.
A float parade will also be held earlier on Friday in central Nuku’alofa.
Other activities
The contestants are also expected to attend a church service at the FWC Centennial on November 25, before being hosted by Queen Nanasipau'u at the Polata'ane Residence.
After an orientation program on November 26, a No Pelesitiki Campaign will also be launched by the chair of the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant Committee, Hon Frederica Tuita-Filipe with the donor, New Zealand High Commissioner present.
