More than 25,000 spectators will watch the Mate Ma’a Tonga play Australia in a sold-out Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland this Saturday, 20 October. This figure almost doubles the crowd of 12,763 that watched the Kiwis play Australia last weekend at the same stadium.
NRL CEO Todd Greenberg confirmed in a media statement today that tickets had sold-out.
Greenberg stated “The level of interest in this game has been staggering so it will be great to see the ‘house full’ sign up outside Mt Smart Stadium this Saturday,”
“Many people worked very hard to make this game a reality and the result will be no doubt a real highlight for the international game and for the game overall.”
