Tongan noble and former Prime Minister, Lord Tu’ivakano who had his case adjourned several times, is expected to be called on October 23, at the Fasi Magistrate’s Court.
The Magistrate’s Court office confirmed the case has been called and adjourned several times, at the lower court due to various reasons and requests from counsel.
Lord Tu’ivakano, who was arrested on March 1, was initially charged with 10 counts, including one of making a false declaration to obtain a passport, two perjury counts, five for accepting bribes and two counts of money laundering.
He is currently Tongatapu’s No. 1 Noble's Representative to Parliament.
