Seven in court on Tonga’s biggest cannabis bust [1]

There are now seven male accused charged in relation to the seizure of 2665 cannabis plants from a bush allotment in Mataika, Vava’u on September 24, Tonga’s largest cannabis bust to date.
The accused Tonga Wolfgramm, Sulitomua Muna, Amini Tapui, Misinale Lavemai, Kaloni Pongi, Heuati Toke and Afei Tau'akitangata Tatafu appeared at the Magistrate’s Court in Neiafu today, October 2.
Initially, six men were charged but a seventh was recently arrested and charged with cultivation of the illicit drug similar to the others. They are due back in court on October 11, said the lower court.
The accused who are between 16-25 years old are all from Mataika.
Police had also seized a .22 rifle, 26 live ammunitions and 44 gallons of home brew.
