Police Officer suspended for unlawful entry into home [1]

A 35-year-old Tonga Police Officer has been suspended after entering a house without permission in Pelehake on Monday, September 17.

Police Commissioner Stephen Caldwell said the off duty police officer was arrested at the house, after police received a complaint from the owner that a person had entered their house without permission.

He has been charged with unlawfully being on enclosed premises at night, and suspended on September 20. He is remanded in custody and was to appear at the Magistrate's Court on September 21.

Further charges are expected to be laid as investigation continues.
