Accused machete attacker appears in court [1]

Pouono ‘Aisake (28) appeared at the Fasi Magistrate’s Court on Monday, September 3 on charges related to injuring a Senior Police Constable with a machete last month.

The Magistrate ordered his further detainment in custody to appear on Monday, September 10. The accused is charged with grievous bodily harm and obstruction of justice.

Police reported that the attack took place at a home in Hofoa on Thursday night, August 23 when the officer (36) was there to remove the accused, who was inside one of the houses. The accused allegedly hit the constable on the right side of his head with a machete.
