Temalisi Fakahokotau wins player of the year award [1]

ANZ Premiership netballer Temalisi Fakahokotau (23), was awarded team player of the year by her Christchurch based club, the Mainland Tactix. She was awarded the title last Saturday following the completion of the 2018 ANZ Premiership season.
At the ceremony, Mainland Tactix CEO Brigit Hearn commended the 6’0 feet tall Fakahokotau for her defensive skills and interception ratio, which helped the Mainland Tactix reach the elimination finals of the 2018 ANZ Premiership where they narrowly loss to the tournament champions Southern Steel 53 – 49.
Born and raised in Auckland, Fakahokotau started her professional netball career in 2014 for the Auckland based Northern Mystic before moving to Christchurch to join the Mainland Tactix last year 2017.
Fakahokotau has twice played for New Zealand’s national netball team, the Silver Ferns. She is expected to be named in the Silver Fern first choice line-up for a three test match series against Australia this September.
