Two accused in cocaine bust on bail [1]

The two Tongan men arrested and charged in relation to the seizure of 58 kilograms of cocaine in Ha'apai with a street value of around $30 million pa’anga, have been released on bail in Nuku’alofa.

The accused ‘Atonaisio Malie and Lepou Fatafehi, both in their 20s, were granted bail to appear at the Fasi Magistrate’s Court on Monday, September 3.

They were released on July 20 after the Magistrate heard their bail application, said the Magistrate Court’s Office today.

The cocaine seizure was carried out during a Tonga Police operation in June.
