Man jailed for sodomy and abducting child [1]

A man in his 20s from Nakolo has been sentenced to six-years imprisonment after being convicted of sodomy and abducting a child under the age of 12, for an offence committed in Tongatapu last year.
Teseleti Nau pleaded guilty to four counts that included sodomy, two for serious indecent assault on a child under the age of 12 and the abduction of a girl under the age of 14 when appearing on May 4, at the Supreme Court in Nuku'alofa.
He was sentenced to the six-years with the final 15-months was suspended under strict conditions.
This means that he is currently serving four-years and nine-months imprisonment at Hu'atolitoli Prison.
His sentence was backdated to when he was remanded in custody.
