Tu’ivakano case adjourned to August 9 [1]

Tongan noble and former Prime Minister, Lord Tu’ivakano had his case adjourned yet again to August 9.

The Magistrate’s Court office confirmed today that the case was called in chambers on July 30 and was adjourned.

The case has been called and adjourned numerous times due to various filing of documents and other matters from parties.

Lord Tu’ivakano who was arrested on March 1, was charged with 10 counts, including one of making a false declaration to obtain a passport, two perjury counts, five for accepting bribes and two counts of money laundering.

He is currently Tongatapu’s No. 1 Noble's Representative to Parliament.
