A gorgeous ­­luxury 56m sail yacht, Fidelis (Latin for ‘faithful’), currently anchored near Pangaimotu Island, has been in Tonga since June, having sailed in from its last port of call, Auckland, New Zealand.

The Port Master’s Office confirmed the Fidelis arrived in Tonga on 11 June, and sailed to Ha’apai, returning to Tongatapu on 30 June 2018. No information was provided on how much longer the yacht would remain in Tonga until it sails to its next port of call, Fiji.

According to YachtWorld.com, the Fidelis was commissioned by an American couple and built by Perini Navi, one of the most respected builders in the sailing superyacht world. The yacht was custom-built to meet the owners' desire to spend more time with their family.

The luxurious yacht sleeps up to 10 guests in 5 rooms, which includes a master suite, 5 double cabins, 2 convertible cabins and 2 pullman beds. She can carry up to 10 crew onboard.

The Fidelis has over 16,000 square feet of sail area and has a cruising speed of 12 knots with a maximum speed of 15.6 knots (under power).

YachtCharterFleet.com states the Fidelis was a finalist in two awards, the World Superyacht Awards 2012 and the Showboats Design Awards 2012. It lists the Fidelis yacht for charter at US$225,000 per week plus expenses.
