Two men have been charged after they were arrested in possession of methamphetamine and cannabis at a home in Sopu on July 11.

Acting Chief Superintendent Tevita Vailea said today a search warrant was executed, where the illcit drugs were seized.

The home owner a 29-year-old was found with 1.29 grams of methamphetamine, seven small packets of cannabis and two cannabis plants. The other was arrested with 0.39 grams of methamphetamine.

He said in order to make our streets and homes safe we need to get rid of illicit drugs from our communities.

“Police are taking proactive measures to address issues relating to drugs. We ask members of the public to contact us if they observe any suspicious or unusual behaviour in their communities."

The accused have been similarly charged with possession of the illicit drugs.
