Dr Manumatavai Tupou-Roosen heads Forum Fisheries [1]

A Tongan lawyer, Dr Manumatavai Tupou-Roosen, is the new Director General of the Forum Fisheries Agency starting in November this year.
Fisheries Ministers from around the region unanimously appointed her to the top job during the 15th Forum Fisheries Committee Ministers Meeting (FFCMIN15) held on July 3-5 in Cook Islands.
She will be the first woman to hold the position at the FFA headquarters in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
Pacific Islands Forum Secretary General Dame Meg Taylor congratulated the Tongan lawyer, who has been working as the fisheries agency's legal counsel.
"She brings great knowledge and experience to an important leadership role for one of the most important resources in the region."
