Laki Niu, appointed Supreme Court Judge.

Laki Niu has been appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court by King Tupou VI on June 21.

His appointment as a judge of the Supreme Court and Land Court is understood to be for a four-year term.

Laki will be sworn in at the next sitting of Cabinet and is expected to start working at the Courts on July 1.

He is a prominent lawyer, former President of the Tonga Law Society and former Member of Parliament.
