Mate Ma’a Tonga ran in seven tries to earn a convincing 38 – 22 victory over Toa Samoa at a packed stadium in Cambelltown, Australia.

Mate Ma’a Tonga scored six tries in the first half to lead 30 – 6 at half time. Mate Ma’a Tonga debutant Junior Tatola scored a try early in the second half to put Tonga up 36 – 6. Toa Samoa retaliated by scoring three tries to close the gap to 36 – 22.

Entering the final ten minutes, Siosiua Taukei'aho converted a penalty to secure a 38 – 22 victory.
