Mate Ma’a Tonga will return with most of its star players this Saturday 23 June in a match against Toa Samoa in Cambelltown, New South Wales.
Jason Taumalolo and Andrew Fifita were among those named in the 17-man team. Two newcomers to debut for Tonga are Tevita Jnr. Tatola and Robert Jennings, both of whom play for the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Robert Jennings is the younger brother of Michael Jennings.
Coach Kristian Woolf said in a statement that he would most likely add more players later in the week.
Toa Samoa have also announced their team, which will be captained by Sam Kasiano of the Melbourne Storm. Former Mate Ma’a Tonga winger Jorge Taufua – who has Samoan ancestry – will make his debut for Toa Samoa against his former team mates.
