Lavulavu fraud case adjourned to June [1]

Former Minister of Internal Affairs ‘Akosita Lavulavu, and her husband, a former Cabinet Minister, ‘Etuate Lavulavu, who are facing fraud charges had their case adjourned to June 25.
The accused couple appeared at the Fasi Magistrate’s Court on May 28.
The lower court said the case had again been adjourned to June 25 to allow for the defence to file their side after the prosecution submitted documents in relation to their charges.
Both were charged with three counts each of knowingly dealing with forged documents and obtaining credit by false pretences, relating to a number of irregularities in an audit of the ‘Unuaki ‘o Tonga Royal Institute in 2016.
'Akosita was sacked by the Prime Minister due to the criminal charges.
