The 2018 session of the Legislative Assembly of Tonga will have a state opening on Thursday, May 31 at the Tonga National Cultural Centre where it is temporarily located.
The Clerk of the House, Gloria Pole'o said today HM King Tupou VI would officiate the state opening.
It is expected that secondary school students in Tongatapu will march to mark the occasion.
The 125-year-old Parliament House that accommodated the Legislature in central Nuku'alofa was demolished by severe Tropical Cyclone Gita in February earlier this year.
