Jury acquits man of machete attack [1]

Sonatane Motu'apuaka Uaisele (29) was acquitted by jurors of grievous bodily harm after he was accused of striking a woman with a machete in 2017.
The five-day trial concluded on Friday, May 18 with the jury’s verdict of not guilty and the accused was discharged by Hon Mr Justice Cato, at the Supreme Court.
The court heard the offence was reported to have occurred on May 28, 2017 at Tokomololo, where he caused grievous harm by striking the victim ‘Alapasita Sakopo (31) with the machete causing injuries.
After hearing witnesses’ evidence the jury acquitted the accused who is from Tokomololo
