Digicel celebrates 10th Anniversary in Tonga [1]

Digicel Tonga celebrated the 10th anniversary of its operation in Tonga, with a dinner at the Seaview Restaurant on Tuesday night, 8 May 2018.

Digicel Tonga began its operation in Tonga when it took over from TonFon in 2008, to be Tonga’s second telecommunication service provider.

Hon. Fanetupouvava’u Tu’ivakano was the guest of honour at the celebration, which was also attended by the Prime Minister Hon. ‘Akilisi Pohiva, the Australian High Commissioner, H.E. Mr Andrew Ford and the Governor of the National Reserve Bank, Dr Ngongo Kioa.

Guests were welcomed by Ben Kealey, Digicel Tonga Chief Executive Officer, and a Tongan tau’olunga was performed by two Digicel staff members.

An anniversary cake was cut by Hon. Fanetupouvava’u Tu’ivakano, assisted by Dennis Fuapau, Digicel Tonga’s longest serving staff member.
