The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have drafted Vita Vea (23) of Milpitas, California. He is the son of Tongan immigrants Sione and Fipe Vea.
Standing 6’4 feet and weighing 157 kilos, Vita Vea’s selection has been well received by NFL commentators and Buccaneer fans. Vita played as a defensive tackle for the University of Washington and was drafted by the Buccaneers in the first round (12th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft last Thursday 26 April.
Vita joins fellow Tongan defensive tackle Stevie Tu’ikolovatu of Utah, who was drafted by the Buccaneers last year.
