Siaosi 'Aho was a Minister of Justice

Tonga’s first Commissioner for Public Relations and former Minister of Justice and Police, Siaosi Taimani ‘Aho (79) who passed away on Friday, April 27, after an illness, was laid to rest today at Takaunove cemetery, Fasi.

A wake was held at his home in Fasi-moe-afi before he was taken for his funeral service at the Church of Tonga (Konisitutone) Siupeli Ko ‘Uluaki Mana at Pahu.

During his long serving distinguished career in government, Siaosi was the first Commissioner for Public Relations, a post he held from 2001-04.

He was also Tonga’s first High Commissioner to New Zealand, a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General, former Minister of Police and High Commissioner to the United Kingdom in the 1980s.
