Child hit by car remains in critical condition [1]

A five-year-old girl is in critical condition at Vaiola Hospital after she was allegedly hit by a car on Tuesday night, April 24 on Mateialona Road in Kolofo’ou.

Police today said a 34-year-old male driver from Puke has been arrested and charged with reckless driving causing grevious bodily harm.

It is alleged that he hit the victim with his car as she was crossing the road at around 9:00pm.

The accused remains in custody pending appearance in court.

The child who sustained serious injuries remains in critical condition.
