A 54-year-old man was arrested with 4.72 grams of methamphetamine and cannabis at premises in Ma’ufanga on April 23.

Acting Chief Superintendent Tevita Vailea said today the Drug Taskforce seized 4.72 grams of methamphetamine, 23.03 grams of cannabis, drug paraphernalia and cash.

The accused, who remains in custody, has been charged with possession of the illicit drugs.

He said this is the second arrest by the taskforce that was set up to capture and prosecute those responsible for the harm these destructive illicit drugs cause to our youths, family and community.

On April 17, the taskforce had intercepted and seized 30.4 grams of methamphetamine shipment from the United States.
