Alleged drunk driver charged in Vaini crash [1]

A 30-year-old man from Ma’ufanga has been charged with reckless driving causing bodily harm in a crash at Vaini on Sunday morning, March 11.

Police today said the driver was allegedly drunk and speeding when the crash occurred.

He was driving east on Taufa’ahau road when he swerved and crashed into a power pole. According to Police, the driver sustained a minor injury on his left knee, while a female passenger was injured on her hands and other parts of her body.

Investigation continues with more charges likely to be made.
