Two men have been arrested and charged in relation to armed robbery and assault of a 62-year-old woman at her home in Fahefa on Sunday afternoon, February 18.

The men who are aged 26 from Havelu and 19 from Fahefa were arrested on Saturday, February 24.

Deputy Commissioner Pelenatita Vaisuai said both have been charged with armed robbery and other related charges and are remanded in police custody to appear at the Magistrate's Court later this week.

The victim, an Australian, lives at Fahefa in Tongatapu with her husband.

The incident took place around noon, when the victim was home alone. The two men allegedly appeared and assaulted her on the head with the rock. They fled when her husband returned home, taking with them two liquor bottles.
