Boy (5) road death at Tatakamotonga [1]

Matthew Lautaimi (5) died on Friday, February 24 after he was hit by vehicle on Taufa’ahau Road at Tatakamotonga. 

Information received by the police said the incident occurred at around 4:30pm, when allegedly the child suddenly crossed the road and a vehicle hit him.

He was rushed to Vaiola Hospital but passed away a few hours later.

The 27-year-old male driver living at Havelu was arrested by police after the accident. He remains in custody.

Matthew who was in class 1 at Beulah Primary School.

This was the first road death recorded this year.
