Severe injury in 'Eua devastation [1]

One man who sustained severe injury due to flying debris in Cyclone Gita remains at the hospital in ‘Eua,
Monday night's cyclone affected 264 families and completely destroyed 52 houses on the outer island. Seven other people had also sought medical assistance at the hospital, which is now operating with a generator after the power outage.
A situation report from Leveni ‘Aho at the National Emergency Management Office (NEMO) today also confirmed partial damages to the 'Ohonua Town Hall, including some residential houses, but the number has not been confirmed.
The numbers of evacuation centres and people who might have sought shelter there, have also not been confirmed.
At the Government Primary School Ha'atua three of its resident houses were damaged. Hofangahau College was also damaged with six of its resident houses completely destroyed.
Teams in ‘Eua have started giving out supplies from the Tonga Red Cross.
Tongatapu
In Tongatapu, initial surveys cound 119 houses were completely destroyed while 1,131 partially damaged affecting more than 4,000 people who evacuated to 108 centers.
In Nuku’alofa schools, ‘Apifo’ou College in Ma’ufanga was the most damaged with 21 classrooms affected.
Schools on the eastern district (Hahake) were the most damaged especially in Tatakamotonga, Holonga, Lapaha, Niutoua, Manuka, and Afa.
Liahona High School reported major damages as well as GPS Fahefa and GPS Ha'alalo.
More schools are expected to be added as reports are received by NEMO. Schools remain closed after Cycone Gita hit southern Tonga on Monday night.
