Cannabis seized at ‘Eua wharf [1]

A 30-year-old man was arrested with 1.2 kg of cannabis at Nafanua wharf in ‘Eua on January 25.

He has been charged with possession of the illicit drug.

Police said today the accused was waiting at the wharf to depart on the MV Maui ferry for Tongatapu.

A police officer who was there saw he was agitated and acting suspiciously and without delay requested back up. Three police officers joined and assisted in closely monitoring the accused before making their arrest, when he gave one of his bags to his 13-year-old female cousin to carry on board the ferry.

He was arrested with 1.2kg of cannabis in his possession.
