Piveni Piukala case adjourns to September [1]

A date has yet to be set for the trial of Shoreline whistleblower Piveni Piukala.

The directional hearing on the case brought by the Shoreline Power company against its former employee Piveni Piukala, has been adjourned to September 15, when it will be heard by Mr Justice Anthony Ford in Chambers at the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court.

The directional hearing will set a date for the actual trial to begin. The directional hearing was initially scheduled for July 18 before Chief Justice Robin Webster, but was cancelled by him on July 12 and redirected for the hearing to be held on September 15 before Mr Justice Ford.

On July 11, at the Nuku‘’alofa Supreme Court, the defendant pleaded not guilty to two charges of unlawfully accessing a protected computer, and the destroying of computer data of the Shoreline Power.
