Police investigate car sales scam [1]

Police are investigating a complaint of obtaining money by false pretences filed by woman who said she paid around $13,000 pa’anga to another woman for a car, but was instead scammed.
Acting Chief Superintendent Tevita Vailea said today the complaint was made last week.
The 33-year-old complainant from Fua’amotu alleged that she had paid a woman from Longolongo, whose name was not released, $13,000 pa’anga to buy a car.
The car was not bought nor delivered to her as agreed in their alleged dealing.
