The Tongan Community in East Oakland of California, are mourning the passing of 18-year-old Soane Mausia, who was shot and killed outside his home. Soane’s 16-year-old brother was injured in the shooting but is reportedly recovering in hospital.

Oakland police said that at least two men began shooting at the two brothers early Sunday morning. Police said that no arrests have been made and that they are yet to determine a motive behind the shooting.

According to police, the shooting occurred late in morning at 2:55 am. The two brothers were socializing with relatives outside of their home when the shooting occurred.

Oakland Police and Crime Stoppers are offering $15,000 in reward money for any information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
