French professional rugby league club, the Catalan Dragons, announced their signing of Samisoni Langi yesterday November 2. The 24-year-old center is currently playing for the Mate Ma’a Tonga at the Rugby League World Cup.

The Catalan Dragons confirmed the signing in a media release, stating that Langi would play for two seasons. Langi stated in the media release that he and his family were keen to move to France.

He stated, "I look forward to joining the Catalan Dragons for the next two seasons, and my wife and I are very excited about the opportunity to adopt Catalan culture and live in Perpignan.”

Catalan coach Steve McNamara and Catalan general manager Christophe Jouffret were equally pleased with the signing, and praised Langi in their media release.

McNamara stated, "He's a great rookie for the club. Having worked with him in 2014 at the Roosters, I know exactly the qualities he will bring to the team, both on and off the field. He is a young, ambitious player with strong offensive qualities who gives everything in every phase of the game.”

Christophe Jouffret stated, "Samisoni will give depth to our squad because it can evolve as well at the opening as at the center and can if necessary also to peanner in the pack of the fronts. despite his rich manpower, wanted to have Langi in his squad for the World Cup.
