Three robberies at various homes in Tongatapu have targeted valuable Tongan mats, stolen by thieves who are still on the loose.

Police said today, a 44-year-old woman from Vaini filed a complaint that her house was broken into earlier this month. She alleged that her Tongan mats valued at around $14,800 pa'anga were all stolen.

On October 18, a home at Fasi was also broken into at 5:00pm; where Tongan mats valued at around $3,000 were stolen.

Two days later at Matafonua on October 20, Tongan mats, tapa, a mobile phone and other goods valued at $2,495 were stolen. The owner reported that her home was broken into at around 2:00-4:00am.

No arrests have been made in these cases. The investigation continues as police advise homeowners to beware of burglaries and be more vigilant in protecting their homes.
