The Tonga Government's public service will close down for their holidays, starting from 8:30am on December 20 to end at 4:30pm on January 2, 2018.

Cabinet on October 18 approved the Christmas vacation period for most government Ministries. However, essential services such as police, hospital, customs and border control services will continue to operate.

Government services resume on January 3, only to finish early at 4:00pm during that week for the annual Uike Lotu (Prayer Week for the New Year).
