Mate Ma’a Tonga defeated a gutsy Italian team in an error ridden game last night 20 October in Innisfield, Queensland. Italy trailed 10 – 6 at half time, their only try was scored from an interception. Konrad Hurrell scored the first try of the game for Tonga within four minutes after kick-off.

Mate Ma’a Tonga dominated possession but were plagued by handling errors and frustrated by a defiant Italian defence. They will play their first World Cup Game against Scotland next weekend 29 October.
