The 21-year-old man who was arrested in relation to kidnapping and sexually assaulting a six year-old girl last weekend in Tongatapu has been charged to appear in court.

He is charged with serious indecent assault on a child. Further charges are likely to be laid as the investigation continues, said a police spokesperson today.

The accused remains detained in custody to appear at the Magistrate’s Court on October 4.
