A top English Rugby League club, the Huddersfield Giants, have honoured one of their prop forwards Sebastine Ikahihifo with three Player of the Year awards.
The 26-year-old Tongan was voted Players’ Player of the Year, Supporters’ Player of the Year and Coaches Player of the Year in an awards ceremony held last weekend.
Ikahihifo formerly played for the New Zealand Warriors, participating in 39 matches from 2012 to 2015. He made the move to England last year, joining the Huddersfield Giants in the Super League competition.
With the accolades to prove his quality, Ikahihifo is now a strong prospect for Tonga. The official Mate Ma’a Tonga team list is yet to be announced for the 2017 Rugby League World Cup next month.
