A 52-year-old man is remanded in police custody for grievous bodily harm after he allegedly hit his wife on the left foot with an iron bar on Saturday, September 9.

The assault was reported to have taken place at 10:00am at a home in Vaini.

She remains at Vaiola Hospital to be treated for the injuries sustained, said police yesterday.

The accused, was remanded at the police station in Mu’a pending court appearance.
