Post mortem to determine cause of death at Popua canal [1]

PPolice are waiting for a post mortem report on the death of Kevini Maka (22) to determine whether there are any suspicious circumstances. The decease's body was recovered from a waterway next to Popua Park in Tongatapu on Tuesday, September 5.

Acting Chief Superintendent Tevita Vailea said the post mortem was expected to be carried out today.

"We wait on the report and doctor’s observations to help us confirm whether there was anything suspicious involved," he said. "No one has been charged at this stage."

The body was noticed by people from the surrounding area of Patangata. The body was found in a new canal situated between the golf course of the Popua Park and the Patangata area, he said.
