The “Tongan Bear” Loni Uhila will play in France for ASM Clermont Auvergne in France’s premium rugby tournament, the Top 14 (Ligue Nationale de Rugby).

The move makes the 28-year-old prop a strong prospect for the ‘Ikale Tahi jersey.

Uhila is highlighted for his bone crushing runs and tackles. He was born in Tonga but raised in New Zealand, and attended Sacred Heart College in Auckland.

Uhila played 15 games for the Wellington Hurricanes since 2016. From 2012 to 2016, he played for Waikato in New Zealand’s provincial tournament. Uhila is 5’11 feet tall and officially weighs 125 kilos.
