A towering 7-year-old Tongan boy in Australia, Vaka Tuitupou, is gaining media attention for his strength and physical prowess. A recent video captured the youngster playing in an Under-8s Rugby league game where he was seen running through his opposition players like a champion.
His exact height and size is unconfirmed but he reportedly weighs almost 100 kilos. He lives in Sydney and plays for an under-8s rugby league team, the St John’s Eagles.
Vaka has been dubbed the “gentle giant” because of his preference to run around opponents rather than smashing through them.
But despite Vaka’s cautious efforts, Rugby League authorities have decided to limit the number of games that Vaka can play amidst parental concerns that he could hurt the other children on the field.
The Chairman of Vaka’s rugby club, Nasser Matta, told the Daily Telegraph, “This boy’s a gentle giant. He doesn’t just run through the opposition to hurt other kids,”
"He's aware of his size. He could pick up kids with one hand if he wanted to but he's just a nice gentle boy. He's a good kid from a good family who just loves playing footy.”
“I don’t want the boy to think he doesn’t deserve to play footy because of his size.”
