Bank teller charged with embezzlement [1]

A female teller has been charged with embezzlement of around $7,000 pa’anga from the Bank of South Pacific Tonga Ltd. in Nuku'alofa.

She is alleged to have committed the offence from April to June this year, embezzling from two bank accounts.

Police said today they arrested and charged the accused last week. She is on bail pending trial.
