Tonga's audit staff trained to improve public financial management [1]

Staff of Tonga's Office of the Auditor General are undergoing training to improve the standard of public financial management.
Thirty participants, including senoir management staff, joined a recent workshop leaning how to implement the International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAIs). They were trained in Conducting Mapping and iCAT (ISSAI Compliance Assessment Tools.
Sefita Tangi, Tonga’s Auditor-General said they were grateful for this opportunity to pilot the project in the Pacific region. “The expected outcome of this project is ISSAI compliant audits conducted by Tonga Office of the Auditor General."
The workshop was carried out by a Norway based INTOSAI Development Initiative, facilitated by Shofiqul Islam assisted by Eroni Vatuloka, with financial support from Australian Aid and IDI.
