Police officers remain detained after armed robbery [1]

Two policemen charged in relation to an armed robbery at a Chinese shop in Ma’ufanga on 20 May remain detained in custody.
The first arrested was a 27-year-old, charged with armed robbery, on 23 May, with another co-accused.
A second police officer aged 23, arrested on 2 June in relation to the same offence, has been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.
Both of the accused have not been while in custody pending an appearance at the Magistrate’s Court in June.
This offence had occurred at 7:00pm when a masked man entered the store allegedly armed with a knife and threatened the shopkeeper. He and other offenders allegedly fled the scene with approximately $700 cash.
